I own my own business and have insurance through the Freelancers Union, and my husband to be works in film and has insurance through the DGA (directors guild of america). His insurance rocks, and when we marry, means that I won't need to pay the $239 that I currently have to pay for my own. After a little glitch in the system, that resulted in me owing 2 months of back insurance, plus 2 months of future insurance, I begged him to marry me downtown, just real quick. He refused. Too much of a romantic. However, I do think that all engaged couples should just secretly get hitched, join insurance, and not tell their guests.
