USA Today, in cooperation with Qforma has released its “Most Influential Doctors” database recognizing thousands of medical leaders in 300 metro areas through out the United States. Doctors falling into this category not only see a vast number of patients in their specific field but also constantly cooperate with their peers to share their data and experiences.
According to the studies methodology doctors where chosen
based on the following criteria: “books and articles they have published, the
studies they have carried out, academic achievements, referral patterns,
diagnoses, procedures, their prescribing activity, their hospital affiliations

I think there is still an element of gamble there.Though this can be a step towards finding the right one.Articles and publications are true an indication but just bookish knowledge does not make one a good Doctor.There has to be a humna quality in it also.

Well,I probably find the right one on their performance.We have different ways to know if the doctors are good in their fields.

Of course we do get to know how good a Doctor in their field from the past diagnosis and also by comparing his opinions with other specialists.

Doing a background check might help to know if your doctor is good enough! Knowing how many patients he handled with no problem or if there is any problem, what kind of problem is it and how did he handle it? Those are simple question that people must answer and think of to get the best doctor for your health.
